Yuri Gagarin was a Soviet cosmonaut who became the first human to travel into space. He was born on March 9, 1934, in the village of Klushino, Russia. Gagarin grew up in a peasant family and had a keen interest in aviation from a young age.

After his historic flight, Gagarin toured the world, promoting space exploration and the Soviet Union. He continued to work in the space program and trained for future missions. Unfortunately, on March 27, 1968, Gagarin died in a plane crash during a routine training flight.
