Differences between schools in Russia and England

Schooling is an important part of every person's life. It helps us to develop our skills, knowledge and abilities. Schools in different countries have their own unique features. In this essay I would like to compare schools in Russia and in England.

First of all, the age range for schooling differs in these two countries. In Russia, children start school at the age of 6 or 7 and finish at 16 or 17. However, in England, schooling lasts from 5 to 18 years old. The last two years of school are equivalent to the first courses of Russian universities.

Another difference is the size of classes. In Russia, classes usually consist of 25-30 students, which means that not all students receive enough attention from teachers. On the other hand, private schools in England often have smaller classes with 15-20 students, allowing for a more individual approach.

In addition, there is a wide variety of schools in England that accept only boys or girls. If parents want to find a separate education school for their child, they should consider English guesthouses.

Furthermore, in high school in England (A-levels, IB),students choose subjects based on their interests. In contrast, some subjects in Russian high schools are mandatory.

Moreover, school subjects are studied in greater depth in the English education system. Students can choose their subjects of interest as early as 14 years old, helping them to define their goals and plans for the future. Education in high school involves a lot of independent work.

Finally, the interaction between teachers and students in England is very different from the Russian model. British teachers treat students with respect and tact, making the learning process a dialogue rather than just the transfer of knowledge.
